Leinster coach Joe Schmidt has sprung a surprise by naming Isaac Boss at scrum-half for Sunday's Heineken Cup semi-final against Clermont-Auvergne.Boss is preferred to Eoin Reddan in the number nine role for the game against the French outfit in Bordeaux.Gordon D'Arcy returns to partner Brian O'Driscoll at centre with Isa Nacewa and Luke Fitzgerald named on the wings.Shane Jennings is preferred to Kevin McLaughlin in a back row which also welcomes back Jamie Heaslip.Nacewa takes over from David Kearney for the holders with D'Arcy's inclusion seeing Fergus McFadden dropping to the bench.Leinster coach Schmidt appears to have decided that Boss' greater physicality offers a better half-back option alongside Jonathan Sexton for the Bordeaux contest.

HEINEKEN CUP SEMI-FINAL: CLERMONT AUVERGNE vs LEINSTER
 Venue: Stade Chaban-Delmas, Bordeaux.
 Date: 29 April, 2012.
  Kick-off: 15:00 BST.

France fly-half David Skrela is ruled out for Clermont by a thigh injury so Australian Brock James will start at number 10 for Vern Cotter's side.James starred in the quarter-final win over Saracens after coming on as an early replacement so his inclusion may not significantly weaken the Clermont side.Their formidable back division includes French internationals Aurelien Rougerie, Morgan Parra, Wesley Fofana and Julien Malzieu along with Welsh star Lee Byrne and All Black Sitiveni Sivivatu.Clermont's pack includes Nathan Hines, who helped Leinster win the competition last year. "If we wanted to go far in Europe we knew one time or another we would have to cross paths," said Hines."Joe and Vern spent a lot of time together and they will try to out-fox each other so it just comes down to the day."The Clermont pack also includes Hines' second-row partner Jamie Cudmore and French international Julien Bonnaire.

Leinster coach Joe Schmidt

At least there is a measurable neutrality about today's Heineken Cup semi-final between Clermont Auvergne and the defending champions, Leinster. The Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux, formerly the Stade du Parc Lescure, where Bath beat Brive in the 1998 final, is 200 miles from Clermont-Ferrand and every centimetre away from the Massif Central is half an inch closer to a more familiar seaboard scene for the Irish. Clermont Auvergne do not lose in the mountain fortress they call home, the Stade Marcel Michelin, their unbeaten record there stretching to 41 games. Live tv
Clermont fans may still be expected to outnumber travelling Leinster supporters 10 to one, but at least the neutral stadium, named after Jacques Chaban-Delmas, the Gaullist prime minister who served under president Georges Pompidou and who was mayor of Bordeaux, does not offer the volcanic eruption of the Michelin at full bore. Which is another lucky break for the Irish province, since their two "neutral" semis in Ireland, in their winning years of 2009 against Munster and 2011 against Toulouse, were played at Croke Park and the Aviva Stadium. I suppose if they'd been staged in Baggot Street they could have been closer to the heart of Dublin, but not by much.
Leinster, then, have less of a disadvantage on their travels, and in a clash of the two most complete teams in Europe such a cushioned discomfort may be important. This promises to be a serious test of nerve, with no performer tested more than the referee, Wayne Barnes.
There will be some mean scrummaging to supervise, for example. If Leinster celebrated the return of one of the most famous names in the game, Brian O'Driscoll, for the quarter final against the Cardiff Blues and if the centre could sit tight and admire the damage inflicted by the front five of Cian Healy, Richardt Strauss, Mike Ross, Leo Cullen and Brad Thorn – the venerable New Zealand second row enjoying a late cameo in Europe – then Clermont have welcomed back a less well-known name.
The tight-head prop Davit Zirakashvili is one of the many Georgians bringing their wrestling traditions and skills into the front rows of French rugby. Zirakashvili is the most fearsome, a burly 28-year old who broke his arm against Leicester in December but who is now back, returning with a vengeance earlier this month to make a real mess of Perpignan, who are not exactly indifferent to the joys of scrummaging themselves.
The more the tortured strains of "Crouch, touch … [I suspect you know the rest of the dirge by now]" threaten to ruin the game, the more important the set piece becomes in these finely balanced end-of-season encounters. This is the test for Barnes: to reward the better scrummagers even if it means allowing their work to stray over what the higher authorities deem to be the lines of health and safety.
Healy may pass the Georgian test with not a peep required from the ref, and that would certainly put Leinster in the driving seat. Clermont have never been in a semi before; this is the Irish team's fourth in succession. In the balance of the margins, vocal support from the French stands may not stifle the on-field experience of the Irish.
Clermont, however, burst over a threshold in 2010, winning the French championship for the first time in 11 attempts and after losing the three previous finals. It did nothing but increase their lust for more and they are in full flow on two fronts, their domestic Top 14 and the Heineken Cup. The way they disposed of Saracens in Watford in the quarter-final at the beginning of this month emphasised their power and discipline.
The ability to blend fury and control comes from their coach, the New Zealander Vern Cotter, who had a fellow countryman as his assistant in the breakthrough campaign of 2009-10. Joe Schmidt is now the head coach of Leinster, and their battle of wills is just one of Sunday's many head-to-heads. From the coaches to the full-backs, Lee Byrne with Clermont against Rob Kearney, and all the way through the teams to the Healy-Zirakashvili confrontation up front, this is a little bit out of the ordinary.
Sometimes, the very fact of a match being so finely balanced militates against a spectacle, as the players' similarity of standard – high across the board – means that nothing escapes their grasp. Or perhaps the peerless O'Driscoll may have one last trick to perform on a neutral piece of France\

Heineken Cup champions Leinster go up against Clermont Auvergne on Sunday looking to be only the fourth team in the competition's history to reach back-to-back finals.
Both teams are currently riding high in their leagues with Leinster topping the RaboDirect PRO12 and Clermont Auvergne locked in an epic battle for Top 14 Orange supremacy with Toulouse. But come Sunday at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux, all that will be put to one side.
Leinster have the better record in the competition than their opponents and eased past Cardiff Blues in the last eight to book their place in the semi-finals. Clermont, meanwhile, put in a performance of ruthless counter-attacking and defensive resilience to dispatch Premiership champions Saracens on their own turf.
Clermont Auvergne - Player to Watch: Brock James endured a torrid time the last time he faced Leinster but with David Skrela's injury, he will be the man to watch for Clermont. If he's on his game then Leinster will have a mission to keep him under control.
Clermont Auvergne - Team News: Lee Byrne starts at fullback with Sitiveni Sivivatu and Julien Malzieu on the wings. Aurelien Rougerie captains the side at outside centre with Wesley Fofana inside. James is at fly-half with Morgan Parra providing the guidance at scrum-half. The front-row sees Lionel Faure, Benjamin Kayser and Davit Zirakashvili all link up. In the second-row Jamie Cudmore and Nathan Hines provide the grunt while Julien Bonnaire, Alexandre Lapandry and Elvis Vermeulen form the back-row.
Leinster - Player to Watch: Rob Kearney is back to his British & Irish Lions Test best and gives Leinster a solid platform from the back of the field. If Leinster are to book their place in the final, then Kearney will need to be at his best.
Leinster - Team News: Gordon D'Arcy partners Brian O'Driscoll at centre with Luke Fitzgerald joining Isa Nacewa and Rob Kearney in the back three. Isaac Boss links up with Jonathan Sexton at half back. Cian Healy starts in the front row alongside Richardt Strauss and Mike Ross. Leo Cullen leads the team and partners All Black Brad Thorn at lock, with Shane Jennings joining fellow Ireland internationals Sean O'Brien and the returning Jamie Heaslip in the back row.
Key Battle: The battle between Aurelien Rougerie and Brian O'Driscoll promises to be fascinating. Both are club legends with huge experience and if one of them gets the better of his opposite number, then expect that club to prevail.
Trivia: The two coaches - Leinster's Joe Schmidt and Clermont's Vern Cotter - worked alongside each other at Clermont Auvergne and guided them to the 2010 Top 14 title.
Stats: The semi-final will be the second French-Irish last four contest at Stade Chaban Delmas with the other being Munster's 31-25 win over Toulouse in 2000. The stadium also staged the 2004 semi-final when Toulouse beat Biarritz Olympique.
Quote Unquote:
"Leinster are pretty much the same team as last season and I think the teams are quite similar with effective forwards and good back rows. On paper you're looking at a 50-50 game."- Clermont Auvergne second-row Nathan Hines

Leinster face the toughest test of their Heineken Cup defence when they take on ASM Clermont Auvergne in Bordeux on Sunday, kick-off 3.00pm.
Last season's path from the pool stages to the final consisted of two Dublin games, against Leicester and Toulouse, and the final in Cardiff was possibly as close to a "home" fixture as they could have hoped for outside of Ireland.
Now they must go into the lion's den in Stade Chaban-Delmas, not Clermont's home venue but it still poses a formidable challenge. The estimation is that travelling Blues fans will be outnumbered ten to one.
Leinster's single-mindedness in going about their tasks will be a telling factor. In the last two seasons they have visited France three times and on each occasion have returned with a box ticked.
In last year's pool stages they came away with a losing bonus point against Sunday's opponents, and easily accounted for Racing Metro. In their first game this season they secured a share of the spoils against Montpellier.
The Heineken Cup champions, in contrast to the national side, know they can produce the goods over there.
While Leinster's performance against the Cardiff Blues in the quarter-final was a thing of beauty it was a dead rubber by half-time.
They'll find they won't get anything like the room to reproduce some of those moves, and with Isaac Boss in ahead of Eoin Reddan at scrum-half they may not be as quick to go wide on Sunday.
ASM have built up a talented squad and are, like Leinster, at the top end of their domestic league. Morgan Parra, Wesley Fofana and Julien Malzieu are all capable of causing harm in the backline while Aurélien Rougerie may be tempted to switch into inside centre for some moves to test out Gordon D'Arcy.

The Wexford man's traditional gainline-breaking bursts have been conspicuous by their rarity this season and when Clermont look across the rest of the Blues backline they will identify the inside centre channel as their best hope of making ground in this area.
While David Skrela is out, his replacement, Brock James, was on fire when they beat Saracens in the quarter-final but the Australian is also capable of having a stinker.
Joe Schmidt's men would be wise to get to him early, or late. And if Johnny Sexton starts well with the boot he can pile more pressure on the former Western Force out-half.
The battle up front is a mouth-watering prospect and it is hard to see either side bulldozing the other for the 80 minutes.
The jousts between World Cup winner Brad Thorn and ex-Leinster man Nathan Hines, and between Sean O'Brien - by his standards off form this season - and Julien Bonnaire will go along way to setting the tempo of the tie. Add the volatile Jamie Cudmore to the mix and the forward battle should be irresistible.

There is no doubt that the Irish province's level of professionalism, spirit and refined talent can be too much for any team on any given day.
The O'Driscoll factor is another string to their bow and the centre is capable of coming up with something ridiculous that no team can counter.
Even his presence off the ball can create space for others as defenders try to close him down early. Those outside him today are more than capable of taking advantage.
Clermont have a couple of external factors in their favour. They'll not have been exposed to the media hype that surrounds Leinster, so, unlike Cardiff in the last round, they won't know they are supposed to lose, always a danger.
Vern Cotter's men will also have the best part of 30,000 fanatics to spur them on - the 16th man can work for non-Irish teams too.
History shows that retaining the Heineken Cup is an almost impossible task, Leicester (2001 and 2002) being the only side to achieve this feat.
Leinster have the tools but the force tends to be against defending champions as those without silverware are hungrier than those who have just fed.

Verdict: Clermont by four

Edinburgh travel to Dublin viewed by many as the real underdogs in this semi-final, but if Ulster treat their Scottish opponents lightly they could get turned over as Michael Bradley’s side have made it to this stage with some impressive performances.

In their Pool they won five of six games and defeated the likes of London Irish, Racing-Metro and Cardiff Blues – which is no easy job – before recording an impressive victory over Toulouse in the last round.

Edinburgh (14/1 BetFred outright) are looking a completely different prospect in the Heineken Cup as in the RaboDirect PRO12, so any Ulster fan smugly remembering their two league wins over Saturday’s opponents could be in for a shock.

All eyes for Ulster (7/2 Tournament Outright) will be on Ruan Pienaar to kick the points to send them through, as he has been in superb form for the Northern Irish side and if Edinburgh give him chances within range he will punish them more often than not.

Coach Brian McLaughlin has been forced into a few changes and are without key players John Afoa, missing through suspension, and Chris Henry, injured, for Saturday’s game. He has made a brave call by picking youngster Paddy Jackson at number ten ahead of Ian Humphreys but McLaughlin is confident he can rise to the occasion.

For Edinburgh, they are blessed as they are not only able to name the identical starting XV that toppled Toulouse but also had the opportunity to rest a number of players last weekend.

It is in the pack where Ulster will face a huge battle and Stephen Ferris, Willie Faloon and Pedrie Wannenburg will have their hands full against David Denton, Ross Rennie and Netani Talei.

There remains no argument that Edinburgh are a different proposition in the Heineken Cup and will revel in their underdog status, but Ulster are a strong outfit and look capable of getting the better of their opponents in Saturday’s semi-final, but only just (Match Betting 80mins – Ulster 1/3, draw 20/1, Edinburgh 9/4).
Johann Muller, the Ulster captain celebrates their victory during the Heineken Cup quarter final match between Munster and Ulster at Thomond Park on April 8, 2012 in Limerick, Ireland.

By Tadhg Peavoy
Ulster’s victory over Munster in the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup was a stunner.
The self-belief which has been self evident in Brian McLaughlin’s squad all season was at the fore as the men in white tore Munster apart in an opening 15 minutes which will be one of the standout memories of this season’s tournament.
Munster, for all their bravery in the pool stages of this season’s competition, had looked weak in crucial positions and creatively plodding all season.
The Ulstermen’s rabid ferocity at the breakdown, and aggression in the tackle, was the perfect recipe for success in Limerick, and the northerners got their tactics spot on.
Going into the Munster tie, Ulster knew they would be facing either Toulouse or Edinburgh in the semi-finals, should they reach that stage.
The fact that Edinburgh knocked out European rugby’s aristocrats will have sent shivers of delight down Ulster fans’ spines as they contemplated taking on their familiar Celtic foes in the last four.

A knock-out tie against Toulouse in the H Cup is any European team’s ultimate test, but a home tie – albeit in the Aviva Stadium, not Ravenhill – against a team who has never before reached Europe’s last four gives Ulster a distinct upper hand psychologically, on the surface at least.
In the last five seasons, the sides have met 12 times. Ten encounters have been in the Celtic League, two clashes have been in the H Cup. Both sides have won six clashes each.
That parity has not been reflected this term; however, with Ulster’s improved form delivering two striking results: a 42-20 victory in Murrayfield on 6 January, and a 38-16 victory in Ravenhill on 2 March. The form is with the Ulstermen.
You have to go right back to the 2007/08 season to find a year where Edinburgh managed a whitewash of wins over their Irish rivals.
Complacency is always a danger when results stack up in favour of one side, but one would imagine the hard-nosed Springbok element of the Ulster side will stamp out any such thoughts or suggestions.
Ulster have lost Chris Henry for the semi-final (ankle strain), and after the back row’s seismic performance in the last eight, this is a distinct loss.
However, the injury news has been more good than bad for Ulster, with Paddy Wallace, Pedrie Wannenburg and Paul Marshall all declared fit.
The returning triumvirate of Stephen Ferris, Dan Tuohy and Rory Best form the spine of a top-class pack, and they, along with captain Johann Muller, will once again form the foundation stone of this team.
It's the nine-ten axis where most questions will be raised over McLaughlin’s team selection. The Ulster chief has opted for Ireland under-20’s Paddy Jackson at number ten, with Springbok Ruan Pienaar feeding him at nine.
The clamour in recent weeks had been for Pienaar to shift along the line to ten, and to bring the impressive Paul Marshall in at scrum-half. McLaughlin has eschewed this plan and gambled on youth at out-half instead.

Pienaar is effective at both nine and ten, but without question he has more influence on the game from further out across the line, and he can do more attacking damage from that position.
Ian Humphreys’ woeful kicking out of hand against Munster earmarked him for the chop and it’s no surprise to see him excluded today, especially considering that Jackson started at ten against Connacht and Leinster recently.
By putting Humphreys and Marshall on the bench, however, McLaughlin has loaded his replacement options with experience and talent.

Much like Ireland have had the option of bringing on Ronan O’Gara for Jonathan Sexton, and Eoin Reddan for Conor Murray in recent times, Ulster’s strength in depth here could be crucial in a tight endgame.
Edinburgh head coach Michael Bradley, by contrast, has opted for stability in naming the same XV that defeated Toulouse in the last eight.
The former Connacht coach will be looking for creativity from Greig Laidlaw at out-half. Laidlaw’s half breaks and clever kicks over the top were a bright spot in Scotland’s 2012 RBS 6 Nations campaign and that kind of unpredictability could unsettle Jackson opposite him.
With Mike Blair at nine, Edinburgh have first-class delivery off the base.

In the centre, Matt Scott and Nick de Luca should not strike fear into the hearts of Ulster’s back line. However, out wide Lee Jones and Tim Visser are very dangerous, speedy competitors. Jones, in particular, looks like he has a very bright future ahead of him.
When Laidlaw does decide to spin it wide, expect Scott and De Luca to act as quick conduits to the back three, with cut ins off the wing and clever lines of running the order of the day.
Ulster have their own dynamite on the flanks in the form of Andrew Trimble and Craig Gilroy, who are more than a match for their opposite numbers.
With John Afoa suspended in Ulster’s front row, the playing field is more even in the scrum, and Edinburgh will be delighted by his absence.
One has to imagine that this solid Ulster pack will grind Edinburgh down in the loose and close out any space Edinburgh hope to exploit with a solid, quick-up defence. With that platform laid, Ulster’s backs must deliver a similar performance to the one against Munster. In essence, they must be clinical and take correct options. In words it’s simple, in reality, in the cauldron of a semi-final, it’s a different prospect.
If Edinburgh’s pack cannot gain parity, their backs simply won’t be able to live with Ulster’s very physical approach. Add Ulster’s up front, brutal nature to a home crowd baying for blood, and Saturday looks like being a white day.
Prediction: Ulster to win by 12.

Ulster’s victory around Munster inside the quarter-finals from the Heineken Cup was a stunner.

The self-belief which has been self evident in Brian McLaughlin’s squad all time was at the fore because men in white tore Munster apart in an opening 15 minutes that can be a single with the standout memories of the season’s event.

Munster, for all their bravery inside the pool levels of the season’s levels of competition, had looked weak in critical positions and creatively plodding all time.

The Ulstermen’s rabid ferocity in the breakdown, and aggression while in the tackle, was the right recipe for success in Limerick, as well as the northerners bought their practices spot on.

Going to the Munster tie, Ulster realized they'd be struggling with both Toulouse or Edinburgh while in the semi-finals, should really they arrive at that phase.

The fact that Edinburgh knocked out European rugby’s aristocrats could have sent shivers of delight down Ulster fans’ spines because they contemplated taking on their acquainted Celtic foes within the last four.

A knock-out tie towards Toulouse within the H Cup is any European team’s supreme exam, but a house tie - albeit during the Aviva Stadium, not Ravenhill - versus a staff who has in no way prior to reached Europe’s final 4 provides Ulster a distinct higher hand psychologically, within the surface not less than.

From the final 5 seasons, the sides have fulfilled 12 situations. Ten encounters are actually during the Celtic League, two clashes have already been while in the H Cup. Both sides have won 6 clashes every.

That parity hasn't been mirrored this term; nonetheless, with Ulster’s improved kind delivering two striking outcomes: a 42-20 victory in Murrayfield on 6 January, plus a 38-16 victory in Ravenhill on 2 March. The type is with all the Ulstermen.

You should go proper back to your 2007/08 season to find a calendar year where Edinburgh managed a whitewash of wins about their Irish rivals.

Complacency is always a danger when results stack up in favour of one side, but one particular would imagine the hard-nosed Springbok ingredient on the Ulster aspect will stamp out any such ideas or ideas.

Ulster have lost Chris Henry for that semi-final (ankle strain), and after the back row’s seismic performance from the previous eight, it is a unique reduction.

Having said that, the injury information has become more great than terrible for Ulster, with Paddy Wallace, Pedrie Wannenburg and Paul Marshall all declared in shape.

The returning triumvirate of Stephen Ferris, Dan Tuohy and Rory Ideal type the spine of a top-class pack, plus they, along with captain Johann Muller, will as soon as again type the foundation stone of the workforce.

It's the nine-ten axis where by most inquiries will be raised about McLaughlin’s workforce selection. The Ulster chief has opted for Ireland under-20’s Paddy Jackson at amount ten, with Springbok Ruan Pienaar feeding him at nine.

The clamour in modern weeks were for Pienaar to shift along the line to 10, also to carry the amazing Paul Marshall in at scrum-half. McLaughlin has eschewed this program and gambled on youth at out-half alternatively.

Pienaar is powerful at both equally 9 and ten, but with out issue he has far more affect within the recreation from even further out across the line, and he can do more attacking damage from that place.

Ian Humphreys’ woeful kicking out of hand versus Munster earmarked him for your chop and it is no shock to view him excluded these days, specially considering that Jackson commenced at 10 in opposition to Connacht and Leinster not long ago.

By putting Humphreys and Marshall around the bench, however, McLaughlin has loaded his replacement solutions with practical experience and expertise.

Very similar to Ireland have had the option of getting on Ronan O’Gara for Jonathan Sexton, and Eoin Reddan for Conor Murray in recent moments, Ulster’s power in depth the following might be very important inside of a restricted endgame.

Edinburgh head coach Michael Bradley, in contrast, has opted for stability in naming the identical XV that defeated Toulouse within the final eight.

The former Connacht coach will probably be trying to find creativeness from Greig Laidlaw at out-half. Laidlaw’s half breaks and intelligent kicks over the top have been a bright spot in Scotland’s 2012 RBS six Nations marketing campaign and that type of unpredictability could unsettle Jackson opposite him.

With Mike Blair at nine, Edinburgh have first-class shipping off the base.

Edinburgh coach Michael Bradley has named an unchanged team for Saturday's Heineken Cup semi-final clash with Ulster in Dublin.

The same starting XV which toppled mighty Toulouse at Murrayfield in the quarter-finals have been given the chance to earn a place in the Twickenham showpiece.

The only switch in the 23-man squad was on the bench, where back-row Stuart McInally (hamstring) failed a fitness test, leading to a call-up for lock Steven Turnbull.

Edinburgh will take 4,000 fans to Dublin, where they will battle with Ulster for the right to play either Clermont Auvergne or defending champions Leinster, who meet on Sunday.

"The size of the occasion and the backing from fans has not been lost on the players," Bradley said. "It will be a huge test. The hype, the intensity, the crowd, and the fact that we're away from home have a bearing on the size of the challenge.

"Ulster are one of the in-form sides in Europe and will take great confidence from their two league wins over us already this season, on top of their away win over Munster in the quarter-final.

"Our form in this competition is such that we can rightly approach this match with a lot of confidence. The character and resolve of the players has been well tested in this competition and we have prevailed.

In the centre, Matt Scott and Nick de Luca should not strike fear into the hearts of Ulster’s back line. However, out wide Lee Jones and Tim Visser are very dangerous, speedy competitors. Jones, in particular, looks like he has a very bright future ahead of him.

Patience and focus are going to be key for the Hurricanes if they want to break the Chiefs' much-vaunted defence and rein in a dangerous backline, Hurricanes winger Cory Jane says.
Jane, who missed last week's dispiriting 42-14 loss to the Crusaders through injury, says the Chiefs are on a roll after their unbeaten three-match overseas tour and boast an imposing defensive record that has conceded just eight tries in eight matches.
The Chiefs have won every Super Rugby match this season since their first-up 23-19 loss to the Highlanders, and will be hard to beat at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton on Saturday.
"They'll be pumping to play back in front of their crowd again," Jane said.
"We've just got to go up there, play our game, work for each other and hopefully knock them off."
Jane says the Hurricane's undoubted ability to counterattack has paid dividends for them this season, but they will also be looking to incorporate a more measured approach with ball in hand.
"We've got to be patient, we've got to work hard - we can't expect to go out there and make breaks all over the place and think it's going to be easy," Jane said.
"It's going to be tough, we're going to have to grind away for the whole game, and take our opportunities. If we do make a break, or get a penalty, we've got to make sure we capitalise on it."
Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett says the Chiefs' combination of a hard-working pack and speedy, hard-running midfield make them a formidable opposition.
"We've seen that all year - they've been physical, they've worked hard in their forwards initially before they go to their backs.
"They're very well-drilled, and we're expecting them to be at their very best," he said.
The Hurricanes have shown they can open up the best teams and score tries, he added.
"That's what we've planned for with our strategy... But you've got to work hard for your tries, and sometimes that might mean negative metres before you make positive metres.
"That's the mindset and intensity we've talked about."

AAP writes: The Chiefs’ roll continued with a gritty five-point win in Durban and they will like their chances of an eighth straight win back at home. With their forward pack doing the tough stuff admirably, Aaron Cruden is expertly pulling the strings and they look a better equipped outfit than the inconsistent Canes. However the visitors will enter the match with a point to prove following their 42-14 thrashing by the Crusaders. The Hurricanes have been boosted by the return of dangerous wing duo Cory Jane and Julian Savea as well as rising No.9 TJ Perenara. Brendon Leonard is fit again will start for the Chiefs at halfback.
